Who has been in your backyard?

We have been checking out animal tracks in the snow all winter and decided it was time to make some of our own!  I saw this idea in a book called Snow Play and thought we would give it a shot.  You need some cardboard, rope or shoelaces, screwdriver or something that will puncture the cardboard, a marker and a box cutter.  It was pretty easy to do, the hardest part was trying to be creative and come up with different types of footprints!  Just trace out an oversized "footprint" on the cardboard and cut it out.  Do this again and flip one over so you have a right and a left.  Now punch a couple of holes in either side of the prints.  All that is left is to run the rope through the holes and tie it around your child's boot and they are off!

The more creative we were the more the kids loved it.  Try Monster, Big Bird and Yeti prints!
